Zero Telemetry

We collect no logs, no keystrokes, and no usage analytics. We don't know when you run the app.

No Cloud Uploads

Files never leave your macOS device. Processing takes place in active RAM inside your sandboxed system.

No Accounts Needed

Download and use. There are no profiles, passwords, or emails. Your license is tied directly to your Mac App Store ID.

1. Information We Collect

DesktopBrain does not collect, harvest, or aggregate personal data. We do not prompt you for an account, email address, or billing profiles. When you use the DesktopBrain application, we have zero awareness of your actions, your identity, or the files on your computer.

Our website uses basic static hosting providers that collect standard web server logs (e.g. browser user agent, rough geo IP details) to serve assets properly. No advertising tracking SDKs, analytical scripts, or tracking cookies are integrated.

2. How DesktopBrain Works

DesktopBrain organizes files by scanning localized desktop directories using the Apple Core ML API framework. The app runs a lightweight neural network to extract textual, visual, or structural patterns from local file contents.

These classifications are processed strictly inside volatile memory (RAM) and stored only in a local SQLite file database on your device (within standard sandboxed application directories). The database logs which files have been scanned and organized so you can roll back your file layouts.

3. Data Storage & Portability

Your database configuration, preferences, organization ledgers, and index caches reside exclusively inside your Mac. We do not run any cloud database server backends, databases, or online synchronization layers.

If you delete the DesktopBrain application and its sandboxed data folder, all index records are completely removed from your machine, leaving no traces behind.

4. Third-Party Services

We do not share any data because we do not have access to your data. There are no analytics partnerships (e.g., Google Analytics or Mixpanel) inside the app client. Payment processing for desktop licenses is handled directly through Stripe or the Apple App Store, subject to their respective terms.

5. Device Permissions

DesktopBrain requests permission to access directories like your Desktop and Downloads. The application uses standard macOS sandbox security scopes, and only modifies files that are explicitly checked and accepted by the user on the organization screen.

6. Changes to Policy

Because DesktopBrain does not collect personal emails, we cannot notify users individually of adjustments. Any amendments to this policy will be posted on this page. We encourage you to review the policy occasionally.
